Give yourself one quiet moment
The kettle is on, your phone is already buzzing, and breakfast is still a piece of toast eaten standing up. A slower morning doesn’t need to look completely different. Start by sitting down for the first few bites, even if you only have five minutes.
Do the small jobs the night before
Clear a corner of the table. Put a mug beside the kettle. Find the bag you need tomorrow. None of it is exciting, but these little jobs stop the morning becoming a hunt for things. Leave enough space for an ordinary breakfast, rather than planning a routine that needs an extra hour.
Keep the bit that helps
Some mornings call for music; others are better quiet. Try one change for a week and notice whether you enjoy it. If it just adds another task to your list, drop it. The aim is a gentler start, not a perfect one.
